  • The Culinary covers most medicines prescribed by a doctor.
  • Prescriptions are covered under three copay tiers, depending on the medicine.
  • You must use a pharmacy in the Culinary network to pay only your copays . For a list of network pharmacies, click here.
  • The Fund also has a Free Pharmacy. The pharmacy has certain prescriptions that you can get free as a Culinary Participant. The pharmacy is open daily from 8 – 6, and Saturday from 10 – 2.

Filling a prescription:

  • Take your Medical/Prescription card with you each time you get a prescription - your pharmacist will ask for it.
  • You should also be prepared to show other photo identification.
  • The Pharmacist will use generic drugs rather than brand drugs whenever possible, unless your doctor specifically requests a brand drug.  If you or your doctor request a brand drug when a generic drug is available, you are responsible for the cost of the brand drug.
  • You need to use a network pharmacy to get your prescriptions at the copay cost. There are several large pharmacy chains in the network. For a list of network pharmacies in Las Vegas, click here.
  • If you are traveling and need a prescription filled out of town, contact Catalyst Rx to find out if a PPO pharmacy is in your city

Using The Culinary Free Pharmacy :

  1. The Culinary Free Pharmacy carries ONLY the medicines on the Free Drug list.
    • If your medicine is not on the list, ask your doctor if you can switch to one that is.
    • Not all generics are at the Free Pharmacy – ONLY the medicines on the Free Drug list.
  2. You need a written prescription for each of your medicines the first time you fill them at the Free Pharmacy.
  3. Go to the Culinary Free Pharmacy in the St. Louis Square. It is located next to the Culinary Health Fund office (1961 Las Vegas Blvd., South Suite 102)
  4. The pharmacist will have your prescription ready in just minutes, at no cost to you.

What the Free Pharmacy is not:

  • You can’t transfer prescriptions from another pharmacy.
  • Prescriptions cannot be called in by you or your doctor.
  • Only the medicines on the Free Drug List are at the pharmacy.
  • You need identification at the pharmacy – keep your Culinary Health Plan card and your ID with you.

Please refer to your Summary Plan Description (SPD) book for detailed information, or contact the Fund Customer Service office.
