Hospitals

If your patients have a medical emergency they should go to the nearest hospital emergency room (ER) or call 911. The emergency room is the best place to treat your patients for life-threatening health issues such as:

  • chest pain
  • difficulty breathing
  • stroke
  • head trauma
  • severe bleeding
  • loss of vision

Important things to know:

  • If your patient needs to be admitted, their doctor or the hospital must get pre-authorization first. If it’s an emergency, the hospital must get approval within 24 hours.
  • The Culinary Health Fund provides surgery benefits at many outpatient surgery centers. Your patient will not have to stay overnight if they have surgery at one of these centers. Your patient can call Nevada Health Solutions at 702-216-1653 for more information.

How much will it cost my patients?

There’s a $350 copay for an in-network hospital emergency room visit.

Which hospitals can my patients go to?

There are many hospitals in our network. Your patients should go to a hospital that’s in our network to avoid extra costs.

If your patients are not having an emergency, they should use one of these other options for care:

  • Their regular doctor

If they can wait, it’s best for your patients to see their regular doctor. Their doctor knows their medical history and can help follow up on their care.

  • Dr. Tomorrow

If your patients can’t get in to see their doctor, encourage them to use our Dr. Tomorrow service. They can call 702-691-5656 any time to make an appointment. They’ll get an appointment within 24 hours or sometimes even the same day.

  • Urgent care at the Culinary Health Center

Starting, Friday, April 24 at 9pm, the Urgent Care like other areas in the health center is temporarily closed until further notice. The Urgent Care at the Culinary Health Center (CHC) was providing COVID-19 screening and evaluation, but that service is no longer available.

If you need help finding a doctor, you can still call the CHC Call Center at 702-790-8000 Monday through Saturday, 8am to 6pm.

  • Other urgent care centers

There are many other in-network urgent care centers that your patients can use. Some of them are open 24 hours. Follow this link to find an in-network urgent care center.
