Pharmacies

Your employees have great pharmacy benefits. We offer many options to help keep their medicine affordable and convenient. Employees can use our exclusive Culinary pharmacies, get their prescriptions by mail, or visit a retail pharmacy near them. They also have the option to refill their prescriptions online.

Culinary pharmacies

Both the Culinary Pharmacy on Las Vegas Boulevard and the Culinary Pharmacy at the Culinary Health Center have reopened, with limited hours and other restrictions.

If your employees want to transfer prescription from Walgreens, they should call the Culinary Pharmacy as soon as possible at 702-963-9400, or at least three days before they need their medicine.

Temporary restrictions

Participants who want to fill prescriptions at the Culinary Health Center should be aware of the following:

  • Before coming to the pharmacy, they should call to make sure their medicine is ready.
  • Only one person is allowed to pick up the medicine. Family and friends are not allowed inside the Culinary Pharmacy.
  • Same-day prescription service is not available. If your employees bring or phone in a prescription, it will be ready the next day.
  • Your employees are not allowed to wait in the lobby.
  • When your employees arrive, they will be screened and given a mask to wear.
Your employees must wear a mask. There are no exceptions.
  • We’re aware of the long wait times at the Culinary Pharmacies and on the phone. That’s why we’re extending the $0 Copay at any Walgreens pharmacy. More information...

Your employees can get their medicine by mail

Your employees can save time and money by getting their prescriptions by mail. The Mail Order Pharmacy will deliver medicine right to their home. It will cost less than what they’d pay if they picked it up. Their medicine will usually be delivered within 10 to 14 days from the time the order is placed.

Reasons for your employees to use the Mail Order Pharmacy:

  • Get a 2-month supply of medicine for one copay

That means they pay half the cost and won’t have to get refills every month.
  • Save gas and time

They won’t have to make trips to the pharmacy or wait in line.
  • Get refill reminders by text or email

That way they won’t run out of their medicine.
  • Order refills online or by phone

They won’t have to go out of their way to refill prescriptions.

To get their medicine by mail, your employees can choose one of these 4 options:

  1. Call our Customer Service Office at 702-733-9938
  2. Call OptumRx at 866-611-5960
  3. Send in a mail order form
    • Print the formDownload PDF and fill it out.
    • The form and their paper prescription should be sent to:
      OptumRx
      P.O. Box 2975
      Mission, Kansas 66201

They should not staple or tape their prescription to the form. They can just put it in the same envelope.

In-network pharmacies

If your employees do not use any of our other options, they can only go to an in-network pharmacy for their medicine. There are thousands of in-network pharmacies in the Culinary Health Fund network. If they don't use an in-network pharmacy, they will have to pay the full cost of their medicine.

How much will my employees’ medicine cost?

At in-network pharmacies, your employees will have copays for their medicine. The copay amount depends on what they’re prescribed. Here’s what your employees will pay for their medicine at in-network pharmacies:

Generic medicine (Tier 1) $10 copay
Formulary medicine (Tier 2) $20 copay
Non-formulary medicine (Tier 3) $35 copay

Specialty pharmacy

If your employees need a drug that is not on our list of medicinesDownload PDF it is called a “specialty drug.” Your employee or their doctor will need to get prior authorization for specialty drugs. Once they have prior authorization, they can only order the drug from our specialty pharmacy. The specialty pharmacy is Optum Specialty Pharmacy.
