“Free”-Standing Emergency Rooms overcharge you and your Fund

They look like Urgent Cares, but charge much more

These places charge your Fund millions. That’s why the copay for Hospital ERs and “Free”-Standing ERs will change starting September 1, 2026:

  • If you go to a “Free”-Standing ER, you will pay $750.
  • If you go to a Hospital ER, you will pay $300.

But remember, you pay $0 for Walk-in Care at your Culinary Health Centers and $50 at Urgent Care.
