Bruschetta recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread or other crusty bread
  • 3 ounces (oz) of vegetable oil
  • 4 cups (c) of tomato-basil relish (store-bought, or follow this link for the recipe to make your own)
  • 4 ounces (oz) of grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups (c) of pesto sauce (store-bought, or follow this link for the recipe to make your own)
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Slice the bread on an angle into 1 inch pieces.
  2. Lay the bread pieces on a flat pan or metal tray.
  3. Brush the bread pieces with the oil.
  4. Place the bread pieces oil side down on a heated grill to get grill marks.
  5. Remove the bread pieces from the grill.
  6. Spread the pesto sauce evenly on the grilled side of the bread.
  7. Top with tomato relish.
  8. Garnish with parmesan cheese.
